One of the hardest things to find while living in Mexico was a good, hearty, American style breakfast. I'm not sure if it was the altitude that affected my taste buds (Mexico City is about 7000 ft above sea level) but I could never find the breakfast or brunch I craved! Now that I'm back in the US I can finally hit that spot.
