gifting

I made vanilla teacup candles for my mom and close friends for Christmas last year. This year, I made them ornaments and also created my own holiday cards. Creating, and then gifting - I like that.

Chairs are so photogenic, aren't they? I found this one at a vintage shop sitting (chairs sit?) next to a bird cage. I wanted both but figured my room would be a little cramped and resorted to only the chair. It's so pretty and it makes me happy just looking at it through a picture.

A slightly different course.

I'm not going home for the holidays this year. *Gasp! Shock!*
Yes, I will be fine. Don't worry. I think my parents are having a hard time accepting the fact that I won't be spending the holidays at home... but I'll be seeing you soon mom and pops and joe!

My 6 month co-op comes to an end this Friday. It's kind of bittersweet.

I'm not enrolled for classes for Spring 2009. *Gasp again! You what??*
This requires a bit more explanation which will come later but it involves filling out visa forms for Korea and China. And no I did not get suspended or expelled. Oh and no my parents aren't freaking out.

I'm sad that the other Park is off to LA tomorrow for 2 weeks...

But these ladies have flown in just in time to spend some time with me!

And I have some pretty lovely ladies as roommates! (Dinner on Wednesday slee and mchi!)

This December is a bit different than what I had initially expected, but in the end all that matters is that I am lucky to have people who care for me and am blessed to have special people whom I can care for in my life.

Love, Love, Love.

Chi Trib

The Trib may be broke, but they still care about family and friends! Haha I just got a Lord & Taylor coupon from them in my inbox... how nice. And here I am sharing it with you, my friends! All these shopping incentives and promos are dizzying. I don't want to spend any more money!

Friends & Family discount here.

Uggh!

I've never owned a pair of Uggs. Yes, really. I have yet to succumb to the infamous Australian shearling boot even in this harsh Boston weather that makes you not give a shit about what you look like as long as you can stay warm. I didn't get them when I had to wait for my school bus in 12 inches of snow in Buffalo Grove, IL, and I certainly did not make a purchase after I moved to California and witnessed mini skirts and Uggs together. And although I continue to witness beat-up, worn down Uggs on the T in Boston, sometimes they look cute on girls... and I'm starting to believe that I need them to survive.

I do recall that a friend of mine purchased a pale pink rendition of an Ugg boot from Payless for me in high school... but they are now in permanent remission. (The sudden debut in the Boston slush did not fare well for the boots after years of inactivity in California.)

Today, at 23 degrees fahrenheit but feels like 9, is one of those days where I wish I had the fluffy well-insulated warmth of a sheep. As a body suit. And I am seriously considering ordering a pair of black Uggs so I can start from my feet and move up.

Freezing but always with a smile,
SK
